Puppy Chow Recipe

One of my all time favorite snacking desserts is puppy chow. You get heavenly blend of chocolate and peanut butter with a crunch then coated in powdered sugar. This is a whole hearted guilty pleasure sure to satisfy any sweet tooth.

Ingredients

  • 1 Box of Crispix (Or ChexMix cereal)
  • 1 16oz bag of milk chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup Peanut Butter (I use smooth)
  • 1-1 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1 Gallon size plastic bag that seals at the top

Start by melting the chocolate. Spread out the chips evenly in a microwave safe dish and put in the microwave for 1 minute 30 seconds.

After every 30 seconds stop and stir to prevent and chocolate burning. Once chocolate is almost completely melted remove from microwave and add in peanut butter.

Microwave an additional 20-30 seconds until both the peanut butter and chocolate are completely melted.

Next take the gallon sized bag and put in about 1/3 of the Crispix cereal. Then pour about 1/3 of the peanut butter chocolate mixture on top of the cereal. Close the bag then gently shake the bag so not to crush the cereal but allow the cereal to get coated with the mix.

After the cereal is covered, add 1/2 cup of powdered sugar to the bag then close. Then gently shake bag again to evenly coat the mixture. After the powdered sugar i evenly spread I use a sift to get rid of the excess powdered sugar and reuse it for the next round.

Repeat 2 more times then enjoy!

Or a little tip to make it taste even better – I like to freeze my puppy chow for an hour or so to get it nice and cold, try this and I am sure you will not be disappointed 🙂
